ABOUT FIRLE BONFIRE SOCIETY
Although records of Bonfire activities in Firle go back to the 1870s, the Firle Bonfire Society was
re-formed in 1981 to encourage and promote traditional bonfire festivities in the village.
Every October we hold an annual Bonfire Night with torchlit processions and fireworks display in commemoration of the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605. Firle also visit other Sussex Bonfire Celebrations during the outmeeting season including Lewes on Nov 5th

FIRLE BONFIRE NIGHT
SATURDAY 26th OCTOBER 2013
Torchlit processions through the village from 6.40pm
onwards followed by Bonfire and Fireworks
Please note that there is a Road Closure in operation
between 5.30pm and 11pm so there is
no
vehicle access to the village
Parking £10 per car in Firle Park
Free to badged members of the Society

Please note that we cannot accommodate visiting Bonfire Societies.
To march in our processions you must be a costumed member of
Firle Bonfire Society wearing a 2013 Membership Badge .
MEMBERSHIPS CANNOT BE TAKEN ON THE NIGHT.
